sf ibob ride -- saturday april 2, 2005
Thanks to Mike and Roland for coming out and making the inaugural SF iBOB Ride a success! It was a super day -- we managed 66 miles, riding through Fairfax, up and over Whites Hill, and lunched at the Woodacre Deli. Although it got a little chilly at the end, it was a great day of riding...

SF iBOBs, I'm going to declare that this Saturday, April 2, 2005 is the first SF iBOB "Periodic Day-Tour". (Periodic -- meaning I hope to do these monthly!) I've checked the weather, and it's currently predicted that it'll be "mostly sunny" on Saturday with a high of 62F (showers are predicted for Sunday). My current plan (unless majority rules otherwise) is to meet at 9am in Golden Gate Park at the corner of John F Kennedy Drive and Conservatory Drive. We'll roll out by 9:15am, and head up towards the Golden Gate Bridge by way of Arguello Blvd and through the Presidio. After crossing the bridge, we'll regroup in the parking lot on the northern side -- we can meet up with additional folks here as needed (9:30-9:45). Then we'll ride through Sausalito, up and over Camino Alto, on to Fairfax (we can stop there for coffee), over White's Hill, and do the standard Nicasio Loop route, perhaps stopping for lunch in Olema or thereabouts (suggestions for lunch stops welcome, or we can brown-bag it). We can again stop in Fairfax on the return leg (for coffee and snacks as needed), and then return home by retracing our steps. This distance will be around 70 miles -- the pace will be moderate (13-15mph). If majority rules we can shrink the distance somewhat (I know a good deli just over White's Hill that'd make a nearer lunch stop and turnaround point). Please RSVP if you plan to attend, so I know how many route maps to print out. Please also note that I stop for all stop signs and red lights, so if this bugs you, consider yourself warned. ;) Thanks and hope to meet some of you! -JimG
